Dr S Sircar (f)

Dr Sircar joined Bideford Way Surgery as a full time Salaried GP in June 2006 and became a partner in August 2009. Dr Sircar has a special interest in both Dermatology and Women’s Health. Dr Sircar is a GP trainer and works closely with HEE in supporting Registrars working within General Practice as well as Keele University when hosting medical students in their placements at the practice.

Dr A Sinha (m)

Dr Arun Sinha joined as a partner in June 2017. Dr Sinha has extensive and specialist hospital experience having worked as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon for many years, in UK and abroad, before entering general practice . He maintains special interest in that field in his role as a GP and is the lead for Musculoskeletal problems, Joint Injections and Minor Surgery. Dr Sinha is a GP trainer and works closely with HEE in training of GP Registrars , Medical Students from Keele University and is also actively involved in teaching and training of other clinical staff including Paramedics, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacists etc. He is a Director on board of local PCN and ex-Chair of local Clinical Alliance.

Nursing Staff

Louise Garbett (f)
Nurse Practitioner

The nurse prescriber can assess and examine you, make a diagnosis and provide advice and treatment including a prescription if required. She can make referrals to hospital doctors or other health care professionals, and admit patients into hospital where necessary.
Louise is qualified to see patients presenting with a wide variety of health needs, often without the need to see one of our GPs. She is also our Nurse Lead at the practice.

Practice Nurse Primary Responsibilities:
Identify, manage, and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patient’s health. Provide routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF guidelines.

Healthcare Assistant

The HealthCare Assistant responsibility is observing, monitoring, and recording patients’ conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight, communication with patients, relatives, and carers, assisting with clinical duties, personal care including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort, and safety.

Practice Manager

The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The reception manager oversees the smooth running of the reception. All of the management team support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering the best possible patient care.

Grace has joined our practice as a senior administrator.  She has numerous experience working within the GP environment, she has a wide range of skills that she can adapt to her role.

Reception Manager

Carol is our reception manager in the practice team and works alongside the Partners & practice manager promoting effective and efficient management around the running of the practice.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Receptionists triage calls into to practice to make sure you get the right appointment booked in with the right clinician.

The role of our practice secretary is to type up all referrals, to liaise with hospitals and Clinicians and patients regarding appointments, including the Choose & Book system, Liaise with GPs and practice manager in preparation of Meeting minutes, to support with any letters requested from GPs for patients.

Clinical Pharmacist

Clinical pharmacists are increasingly working as part of general practice teams. They are highly qualified experts in medicines and can help people in a range of ways. This includes carrying out structured medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety, outcomes and value through a person-centred approach.
A Clinical Pharmacist role ensuring that the medicine prescribed to the patients are suitable, advising about medicine, including how to take them. They can also do health checks like taking blood pressure. What reactions may occur and answering any questions.
