Dr S Sircar (f)

Dr Sircar joined Bideford Way Surgery as a full time Salaried GP in June 2006 and became a partner in August 2009. Dr Sircar has a special interest in both Dermatology and Women’s Health. Dr Sircar is a GP trainer and works closely with HEE in supporting Registrars working within General Practice as well as Keele University when hosting medical students in their placements at the practice.

Dr A Sinha (m)

Dr Arun Sinha joined as a partner in June 2017. Dr Sinha has extensive and specialist hospital experience having worked as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon for many years, in UK and abroad, before entering general practice . He maintains special interest in that field in his role as a GP and is the lead for Musculoskeletal problems, Joint Injections and Minor Surgery. Dr Sinha is a GP trainer and works closely with HEE in training of GP Registrars , Medical Students from Keele University and is also actively involved in teaching and training of other clinical staff including Paramedics, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacists etc. He is a Director on board of local PCN and ex-Chair of local Clinical Alliance.

I have been nursing for a decade, I attained a BSc(Hons) in adult nursing and a University Advanced Diploma in Unscheduled Care whilst I was serving in the military, I have delivered primary and emergency care for soldiers whilst deployed and at home. This included acute illnesses/injuries and long-term conditions I am also on the ARTP register for spirometry for the diagnosis of respiratory issues such as asthma and COPD. I have recently qualified as a Nurse prescriber and aim to complete the advanced care practitioner in due course.

Our new practice nurse, has brought with her 25 years of experience delivering exceptional care to a variety of patients.  In her many years in nursing she has develop an analytical and strategic mind for working along with excellent time management skills. She is skilled at maximizing patient comfort and safety while meeting strict quality standards and timeframes, along with being well-organised and forward-thinking in managing patient care/needs.

Jordan Bowyer

Healthcare Assistant

Our Healthcare Assistant sees many patients at the practice for things such as blood tests, B12 injections, diabetic foot checks and more. She also assists the Practice Nurse with stock control/ordering supplies, and clinical waste. Jordan brings a wide variety of experience in a clinical setting so is able to apply this to her role at the surgery.

Practice Manager

Our Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. She works closely with the GP Partners as well as the rest of the team to deliver the best possible patient care. Grace has numerous years experience working in a GP Practice which she can use to enhance her role.

Senior Administrator

Our Senior Administrator oversees the admin team and supports the Practice Manager with various aspects of the running of the GP Practice. This includes dealing with medical reports, patient records, helping with the running/setting up of clinics and much more. Tom has many years of experience in a GP Practice and also enjoys the IT side of things so he has a wide range of skills that he can bring to his role at the practice.

Reception Manager

Our Reception Manager works alongside the GP Partners & Practice Manager to ensure the highest standard of care while providing an efficient and effective service to all of our patients. Carol has worked at the practice for many years so uses her wealth of experience everday while she is at work.

Reception

Our receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Receptionists triage calls into to practice to make sure you get the right appointment booked in with the right clinician.

Our practice secretary types up and sends all referrals, liaises with hospitals and clinicians and patients regarding appointments, types our private referral letters and more. She uses the Choose & Book system frequently within her work. She also liaises with the GP Partners and Practice Manager in preparation of meetings so that agendas/minutes can also be typed and circulated to practice staff. Anna comes from a secretarial background so is able to use her skills to create high standards of work and ensure that our patients care is continued through the referrals that she sends.

Clinical Pharmacist

Clinical pharmacists are increasingly working as part of general practice teams. They are highly qualified experts in medicines and can help people in a range of ways. This includes carrying out structured medication reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and improving patient safety, outcomes and value through a person-centred approach.
A Clinical Pharmacist role ensuring that the medicine prescribed to the patients are suitable, advising about medicine, including how to take them. They can also do health checks like taking blood pressure. What reactions may occur and answering any questions.
